REFLECTION

 

Assalamuailaikum and Hi everyone! 👋

My reflection about this course Information and Technology In Science (SSI 3013) is there is lots of new knowledge I get from this course. This course taught me many things related to the use of technology that useful in the teaching process at school especially teaching subject science. It is because in this course I am learning how to use STELLA simulation for searching the predicted data and analyzing the data from the sensor to a detector which is a computer. For me, this simulation is important in teaching and to have knowledge about it because, with pandemic covid - 19, students need to take a learning process at home. So, how these students want to do experiments? Where they can get data? This simulation will help the teacher to explain the experiment by showing up the simulation and the data of result for that experiment. 

    Then, in this course, I also learn about data loggers and how to use adobe photoshop. At first, it quite challenging for me because I lack information about using this application. Alhamdullilah, Sir Azmi bin Ibrahim, my lecture for this course give a good explanation and guide I and my classmate until we complete the assignments. I glad Sir always checking our tasks before we submit them and give encouraging comments. So, we can improve and learn from a mistake during doing the assignment until we meet a requirement that needed in this assignment. Sir always taught us about time management. It is a good moral that we need to learn because we gonna be a teacher (InshaAllah) in the future. Sir always reminds us to come early in the class and be productive. 

    During complete all the assignments, I have through hard times because I lack this kind of technology, and my connection internet not too good. So, for me, it quite challenging. But, I'm glad because I have a lecture who willing to explain the things I do not understand and my friends and groupmate who always helping me doing this assignment. 

    Lastly, I always enjoy be a student and learning this subject in this class. I hope with knowledge I get from this subject will apply in the future. So, I can share this knowledge with other people or students at school.

MY TEACHING PHILOSOPHY

My Teaching Philosophy 🎓

First: 

I see my role as not only providing answers but encouraging students to ask important questions. I have to prioritize my relationship with them. I also have been model the behaviors I want to see in students through good communication and a genuine interest in understanding other perspectives.

Second:

I believe students need to apply what they learn in one subject to another subject they are studying. So, I need to working hard to break down the barriers between individual topics and encourage cross-functional application and transference of knowledge. For me, all my students deserve an equal education even have differences or gap between them.

Welcome to my E-Portfolio SSI 3013 Blog 🌿

SSI 3013 is the code name to subject Information and Technology in Science. By learning this subject, we will get information about technology that can be used in the learning and teaching process. This subject is of importance to students who take a course in the education of sciences because it compulsory for the education of sciences and students can be exposed to information of technology in a scientific manner. 

In this course will learn about: 

1. Smart School 

The smart school is actually a learning institution that has been systematically reinvented in terms of teaching-learning practices and school management in order to prepare children for the Information Age. The idea of smart school is actually to upgrade the education system through a holistic approach in which can lead to the development of individuals. In addition, the development also will focus on making value-based education available to anyone, anytime and anywhere. Besides, a smart school in Malaysia is one of the initiatives that have been done in order to make sure that the school system is relevant to the changing nature of the workplace. This means the school experience is actually looking for the building up of a highly competent workforce who is able to assimilate information and at once transform them into new products.

2. Data Logger

A data logger is a piece of equipment that captures data over a given period of time. The data loggers contain built-in sensors such as pressure sensors. The sensors can be programmed in the computer to capture different amounts of external information for varying amounts of time. The result from the data logger is more accurate than the hand-on experiment because it automatically captures the information. It can reduce the risk of human error and missed reading. The data logger gives many benefits in the education of sciences because it can help the process of teaching and learn in the class to run smoothly especially in investigating experiments. The scientific experiment using this technology makes the learning process become interesting and it can give a positive effect on students' academic process. 

3. STELLA Simulation 

Stella is a technology that has been used by teachers to help them in the teaching and learning process. One of the advantages of using Stella is it can encourage critical and creative thinking skills among students. This means, when students use simulation, students are able to predict the future results of the experiments by using the limited data that is provided.

4. Adobe Photoshop 

This task is an individual assigment. In this assignment, I need to design a header for this E-Portfolio blog.  I need to use the Adobe Photoshop application to edit my header with 2 elements that connect with my natural panoramic background. 

5. Creating Video

This task also an individual assignment. I need to create a video with a duration video is 30 seconds. I record the video in my hometown and I decided to create a video about "Fruit Plants" in my family's garden. I had shot about five different short videos and combined it until it completes a 30 seconds video with title, subtitle, transition, music, and credit at the end of my video.
